INTRODUCTION
On September 12, 2007, Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa, President of the 61st session of the General Assembly; Amb. Zina Andrianarivelo-Razafy of Madagascar; Amb. Francis Lorenzo of the Dominican Republic; and Grammy Awards producer, Nile Rodgers, joined together at the UN for a press conference to announce plans for a United Nations MDGs Awards to be held in 2008.
