Kings College London LLB, called to Bar 1990, following which he established Trafalgar Chambers on Fleet Street becoming "the youngest head of chambers in the last century" according to the Sunday Times. After five years this set merged with another in Inner Temple. During this period Mr Cleverly was a regular presenter on the UK's Channel 4 and contributor to the other main channels, radio and newspapers. Since then he was chairman of Event Data Correlation Ltd which he sold two years later to AIM listed Global Gaming Technologies plc becoming a non-executive chairman on their board. He founded Made In Africa (MIA) to introduce African businesses to international investment and capital markets for the benefit of Africa, MIA also advises the UK Government on development issues. In 2007, he sold biodiesel business Human Energy (Uganda) Ltd to RIBEC plc.
